The Japanese Proficiency Test (JPT) has been running successfully for 32 years, establishing itself as a trusted evaluation system for Japanese language proficiency. Its scores are recognized by over 319 Japanese language schools, 94 vocational schools, 94 universities, and 43 group schools, making it a widely accepted certification for students and professionals. Additionally, JPT is officially recognized by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan, further enhancing its credibility for those seeking educational and career opportunities in Japan. One of its key advantages is the fast result processing, allowing test-takers to receive their scores quickly after the exam.

When does it started in Nepal ?

JPT Nepal officially launched its operations in September 2023, bringing the Japanese Proficiency Test to Nepal for the first time. Initially, the exam was conducted only in Kathmandu, but within a year, it expanded rapidly to eight major cities across the country, including Birtamod, Dang, Dhangadhi, Butwal, Banepa, Nepalgunj, and Pokhara. This swift expansion reflects the growing demand for Japanese language certification in Nepal, providing students and professionals with wider access to internationally recognized language assessment.

What is JPT Elementary ?

JPT Elementary is a Japanese proficiency test designed specifically for beginners, focusing on N4 and N5 levels. Unlike the standard JPT, which is primarily a Computer-Based Test (CBT), the JPT Elementary is conducted as a Paper-Based Test (PBT). This format has been introduced to accommodate countries with a high volume of test takers, ensuring accessibility and convenience for learners. By offering a structured and recognized evaluation system, JPT Elementary provides an excellent opportunity for beginners to assess and certify their foundational Japanese language skills.

Cheating Prevention Software

JPT employs advanced cheating prevention software to ensure the integrity of the examination process. The system uses a specialized formula to detect and eliminate instances of cheating or copying. If two students are found to have a 45% match in both correct and incorrect answers following the same pattern, their exams are automatically canceled. This strict measure has made the exam environment fair and transparent, effectively preventing classroom cheating and maintaining the credibility of the test.

Online CCTV and ZOOM monitoring

To ensure a fair and transparent examination process, JPT implements online CCTV and Zoom monitoring during the exam. The head office actively supervises and records the examination through CCTV access, allowing them to detect and address any misconduct in real time. If any irregularities are identified, the candidate’s exam is immediately canceled by the head office. Additionally, students' movements are closely monitored online, ensuring a strict and controlled exam environment that upholds the integrity of the test.

Test Milestones

JPT is conducted on a monthly basis, providing frequent opportunities for candidates to assess their Japanese language proficiency. One of its key advantages is the swift result processing, ensuring that test-takers receive their scores quickly. Additionally, certificates are printed directly by the Kathmandu office, allowing candidates to obtain a copy within a day. With a total exam duration of just 55 minutes and no breaks, JPT stands out as a shorter and more efficient alternative compared to other language proficiency tests.

Secure Lock Transfer System

JPT ensures the security and confidentiality of its examination materials through a Secure Lock Transfer System. To prevent any unauthorized access or tampering, the lock code for the exam materials is revealed only 30 minutes before the test begins. This strict security measure guarantees that the question papers remain intact and undisclosed until the designated time, maintaining the integrity and fairness of the examination process.
